Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra

Fodor's Review:

The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra alternates performances between City Hall and Artscape. It's also relaxing to listen to the orchestra at one of its two open-air concerts at the Kirstenbosch gardens—usually the first and last concerts of the season. The orchestra has hosted several guest conductors from Europe and the United States and has an active program, which includes free concerts in the summer at the Waterfront's outdoor AGFA Amphitheatre. You can also make a day trip to hear the orchestra and other musical groups at the Spier Estate during the Spier Arts Summer Festival or at a music festival in Franschhoek in October.
