Fodor's Review

This glitzy hotel sits in a prime spot at the tip of the V&A Waterfront, enjoying fabulous views from all sides. The decor is unapologetically sunny, with huge picture windows looking onto the mountain, lots of chintz and marble, parquet floors, and the hotel's trademark floral arrangements. In the lounge you can browse through a selection of international newspapers as you sit by the fire, relaxing to live piano music or enjoying the daily high tea. Rooms, traditionally decorated with hints of dark wood, are bright and have marble-and-tile bathrooms with roomy showers. A business center full of modern conveniences include helpful administrators to make your life easier. The hotel's direct access to the V&A mall makes it super convenient and good for first-time visitors or those nervous of urban exploration. The recently refurbished Camissa Restaurant also serves surprisingly good high-concept South African fare with a twist.
