Scuba Diving in Cape Town

The diving around the Cape is excellent, with kelp forests, cold-water corals, very brightly colored reef life, and numerous wrecks. An unusual experience is a dive in the Two Oceans Aquarium. Pro Divers (021/433-0472. www.prodiverssa.co.za) runs dive tours to some of the many ships wrecked at the infamous Cape of Storms. The friendly Scuba Shack (021/424-9368 Cape Town; 021/782-7358 Kommetjie. www.scubashack.co.za) has two outlets: one in town and one near Kommetjie. Underwater World (021/461-8290) is a city dive shop that offers only NAUI courses.
