Electricity in Namibia

Electricity

More Travel Tips »

To use electric-powered equipment purchased in the United States or Canada, bring a converter and adapter. If your appliances are dual-voltage, you'll need only an adapter. The electrical current is 220 volts, 50 cycles alternating current (AC); wall outlets usually take 15-amp plugs with three round prongs, but some take the straight-edged three-prong plugs, also 15 amps. The more inaccessible lodges have their own generators, but if you want to read at night in your tent, bring a good reading light.
