Toshari Lodge Review

Situated 25 km (15½ mi) south of Etosha's Anderson Gate and previously called the Etosha Gateway Lodge, this pleasant and affordable lodge makes a great base for exploring the park. If you're fed up with self-driving, then let an experienced guide take you on the lodge's 7½-hour drive in an open game vehicle with a great picnic included (30 people maximum; six people max per vehicle). Cheerful well-appointed double rooms with fans and mosquito nets are set among green lawns and old mopane and seringa trees. The restaurant serves excellent home-cooked food and has a good wine list specializing in fine Cape wines. You can also dine in the boma (a traditional open-air enclosure) under the unbelievably brilliant Namibian stars. Kids under 6 stay free with their parents.
