Toshari Lodge

  • Convenient location
  • Clean comfortable rooms with air-conditioning, great campsite, walking trails, and water hole

  • Not a luxury lodge
  • Due to proximity to the main road between Outjo and the Anderson Gate, some traffic noise can be heard in the campsites (though not the rooms)

Fodor's Review

This pleasant and affordable lodge about 25 km (15½ mi) south of Etosha's Anderson Gate makes a great base for exploring the park. If you're fed up with self-driving, then let an experienced guide take you on the lodge's 7½-hour drive in an open game vehicle with a great picnic included (30 people maximum; six people max per vehicle). Cheerful well-appointed double rooms with fans and mosquito nets are set among green lawns and old mopane and seringa trees. The restaurant serves excellent home-cooked food and has a good wine list specializing in fine South African wines. You can also dine in the boma (a traditional open-air enclosure) under the unbelievably brilliant Namibian stars. Kids under 6 stay free with their parents.
