Emergencies. For a general emergency, dial International SOS (112 from mobile phone.) Call Netcare (061/22-3330) for any medical emergencies.
Money Matters. Namibia's currency is the Namibian dollar, which is linked to the South African rand. (Namibia's currency cannot be used in South Africa, except unofficially at border towns.)
Passports & Visas. All non-nationals, including infants, need a valid passport to enter Namibia for visits of up to 90 days. Business visitors to Namibia need visas.

Namibian Tourism (Sanlam Centre, Independence Ave., Windhoek. 061/290-6000. www.namibiatourism.com.na) can provide details on camps, a free map, and a free copy of Welcome to Namibia—Official Visitors' Guide, which gives lots of useful information plus accommodation lists. It's open weekdays 8-1 and 2-5. Namibia Wildlife Resorts (Independence Ave., opposite Zoo Park, Windhoek. 061/23-6975. www.nwr.com.na) dispenses information on the national parks.
