Sidi Kaouki Review
For the Essaouira ascetic who really wants to concentrate on sand and sea, the tranquil, wind-blasted beach village of Sidi Kaouki is the destination of choice. "Town" consists of an abnormally high number of guesthouses, a few shops and small restaurants, and very little else, apart from pristine stretches of sandy beach. Unlike Essaouira Bay, which is protected by the city, there's nothing to stop the fearsome winds here in summer, making this a top spot for surfing and windsurfing. It's also easy to rent mountain bikes or take a ride on ponies or camels.
