On the other road out of town towards Agadir, Riad El-Aissi is considered Dar Zitoune's country cousin. More shabby-chic than city slicker, this former residence of a Moroccan dynasty has plenty of charm amid the 72 acres of fruit orchards. Rooms are spacious and set around interconnecting patios and terraces. There are suites with as many as five beds, which offer families a very economical lodging alternative. The kitchen turns out top-quality food with fresh produce (also available for nonguests), much of it from the surrounding fields. The pool has views to the Atlas Mountains.
