Erg Chebbi Review

In most cases your hotel is your best bet for an organized tour of Erg Chebbi. Every auberge near the dunes is there because it's the best jumping-off point for a sunrise or sunset journey into the dunes, either on foot or by camel. Most auberges have their own permanent bivouac in the dunes, often not far from others but generally fairly well concealed, so you can pretend no one else is around even if they are. Most bivouac areas are organized into series of small tents for couples and larger groups, so you don't have to share with everyone. If you want to be utterly private, make sure your auberge doesn't share a tented site with any other, or ask to camp in the dunes on your own.

For anything more than camel-riding and staying in a desert oasis, such as quad-biking, you'll need to go to the right hotel (Tombuctou rents quads) or a local rental agent. Most auberges can get their hands on a four-wheel drive, even if they don't always have them on-site.

    Morocco Desert Tour from Marrakech

This was my first trip to Morocco and I was reccomended to contact Moroccan desert trips private day tours because I wanted to see the Atlas mountains and the Sahara. I emailed Hakim and had instant reply,he was very friendly and spoke good English. I was traveling with my sister and Hakim picked us up from our hotel in Marrakech, we traveled through the Atlas on the first day and Hakim showed us the most bueatifull sites to take photos, nothing was too much trouble. We also travelled through the Dades Gorges which were amazing. Whenwe arrived Merzouga which is a village in the desert we were taken by camel on 2hour travel to the beduine camp.We were suprised how comfortable it was with good toilet and shower facilities. We were provided with a fantastic meal of traditional Moroccan food and then Hakim and others played drums and sang around a camp fire under the stars.Well done and thanks to www.moroccandeserttrips.com
