If you're fed up with faux kasbahs, then here's the real deal. Located in Ksar Tissergate, these two neighboring houses once belonged to a noble family and have been restored to their original designs, using local materials. Staying here you really experience life in a living kasbah, with children playing in the dark, tunnel-like streets. This experience is not for the claustrophobic, though, as rooms are truly traditional, which means they are dark with very few windows to the exterior (except for three terrace rooms). Visit the Ksar Tissergate Museum next door. Room rates include breakfast and dinner.
