By Car in Marrakesh

Cars can pass through many of the medina's narrow alleys, but not all, and unless you know the lay of the land you risk getting suddenly stuck and being hard-pressed to perform a U-turn.

Parking

Parking in Marrakesh is relatively easy; barring the red-and-white-striped gutters, you may park almost anywhere. Throughout the city, guardians (who usually wear blue overalls and a brass badge) watch cars in parking lots for a few hours for 5 DH, and 10 DH overnight.

Car Rental

By far, the best local car-rental agency we found was Rent Med; run by a super-helpful staff, this company gives very competitive rates on a range of small cars and larger all-terrain vehicles, all in good condition. They can also provide chauffeurs if you don't feel like driving. As a general rule, cars cost between 300 DH and 400 DH per day, while four-wheel drives cost 900 DH to 1,000 DH per day.
