Dar Alfarah
Dar Alfarah Review
This lovely riad is near the Badi Palace in the Mellah quarter, tucked down a sidestreet that leads to the Kasbah area. All the house's original doors, ceilings, and tiles remain, and the guest rooms have painted wrought-iron window grilles and private bathrooms finished in tadelakt (a traditional, shiny, smooth-wall effect). Jasmine, bougainvillea, and banana palms surround a small courtyard pool. You can request meals on the secluded terrace, which has great views of Marrakesh and the High Atlas. Pros: Good location, plenty of atmosphere. Con: Small pool.

This beautiful riad has a wonderful staff and excellent food. We arrived late and were greeted by one of the better meals we had while in Marrakech. Our room was exotic while still being comfortable. The first night we awoke to a surprise... dueling mosques! No authentic medina stay can be complete without a pre-dawn wake-up by not one, but rather three mosques all calling the faithful to morning prayer.
The riad is centrally located and is an easy walk to virtually all of the Medina sites. The rooftop terrace is also quite nice so request one of your meals be served up there. We loved it and would definitely stay at Dar el Farah again.
