One rule of thumb is that every old Marrakshi monument has a café nearby to rest your feet in after all those historical exertions. The Café Palais El Badai is a cheap and popular lunch spot (the 80 DH menu includes kefta and tagine). It's a pretty, wrought-iron terrace overlooking both the palace and the Place des Ferblantiers. Look out, too, for the gracious storks nesting opposite.
