Fodor's Review

The palatial Yacout is in a house designed as a One Thousand and One Nights restaurant and, as it's one of Marrakesh's luxurious five-course gastronomique experiences, you need to be seriously hungry to make the most of it. Its location deep in the medina only adds to its mystery. Aperitifs are taken on the rooftop to the haunting chants of a Gnaoua musician. A traditional Moroccan feast is served in several different settings: beside the pool on the lanterned terrace; in a vaulted upstairs room; in an intimate glassed-in salon; or in the lush, cushion-filled main salon. Courteous, discreet waiters in white djellabas and red fezzes scurry about to fulfill your every need. This is an exotic experience in a magical setting, but the standard of food has declined in recent years, so this is no longer the best value.

1001 night or ????

Ww had diner in the stunning place as in 1001 nights. The food was nothing more than average to poor. The service also average. What a waste!!! This could evolve into a restaurant of world fame....only when they bring correct dishes, correct staff etc. The price would become of "no issue anymore" but now it is much and much too expensive for just a "nice building"(€ 60.00 pp). As said...what a true waste of potential.

We had a fun evening. But, the food was mediocre, service was okay, price was high for Morocco. Ambience was very much old Marrakech, but 90% of the customers (at least) were tourists. Not at all impressed.
