Fodor's Review

Comprising both a restaurant and a nightclub, Azar exudes contemporary Oriental charm both through its Lebanese-Moroccan cuisine and its intriguingly modern take on traditional Moroccan design. Intimate enough for a romantic twosome but laid-back enough for casual gatherings, the interiors are bedecked with brass lanterns, leather poufs, and satin cushions intermingled with retro plastic-molded chairs and honeycomb-sculpted plaster walls. The menu offers Lebanese staples

such as tabbouleh, falafel, and hummus with marinaded grilled meat kebabs and cutlets for main courses. A selection of mezzé du chef makes a very enjoyable and affordable light meal for two. The top floor of the restaurant hosts live Oriental music every night in its sultry club and bar.
