Club Alpin Français Review

Offering a safe place to sleep for trekkers, skiers, and summer ramblers alike, this very simple and basic dormitory-style accommodation is clean and well run. Fayre is refreshingly French, as is manager Michele (who as been here for more than two decades). She is a mine of helpful and expert information. There is a feeling of camaraderie here, especially in the basic yet welcoming bar beyond the small wood-paneled lobby. Most often, the guests are here to experience shared pleasures: the clean mountain air, the alpine scenery, and the snow (although in some years the latter fails to materialize). Michele will supply a packed lunch and any information on guides and equipment outfitters. She also coordinates stays in CAF's other outposts in the High Atlas.
