Imilchil

The joy of a visit to Imilchil is in the journey, but it's also famous for the marriage festival that takes place here every September, when the young people of the community are dressed up in their best and brought together to find everlasting happiness. The surrounding Plateau des Lacs (Plateau of the Lakes) includes the lakes of Iseli and Tislit (Fiancé and Fiancée), which were said to be formed by the tears of two star-crossed lovers who then drowned in the lakes they had created. Lac Tislit is 5 km (3 miles) from Imilchil, while Iseli is another 10 km (6 miles) east.
