Fodor's Review

Purebred Arabian and Berber horses and fine hybrids are treated like royalty at this 165-acre equestrian breeding and training farm used for Morocco's military until 1947. Under the direction of the Ministry of Agriculture, it's become the largest national stud ranch with around 270 horses identified by plaques on their stable walls: red for Arabians, green for Berber stallions and mares, and red and green for hybrids. Manicured pastures, multiple dressage and jumping quarters, and a 30-acre hippodrome showcase these spectacular "horses of the Maghreb," and Haras organizes regional competitions in Fez, Khénifra, Meknès, Khémisset, and the world-renowned Horse Festival in Tissa.
