Fodor's Review

The Atelier de Tissage–Kasbah Myriem is a workshop run by the Notre Dame d'Atlas convent and monastery since 1925. Off the road to the Cirque de Jaffar, en route to Tattiouine and surrounded by trees, it is a good place to buy local Berber carpets, blankets, and hand-embroidered textiles of all kinds as well as to chat with the benevolent French Franciscan nuns, all of whom are experts on Moroccan weaving. On-site is a small church with an icon of the Seven Sleepers of Ephesus, a legend referenced in both Christianity and Islam.
