Dar Jamai

  • Address: Pl. el-Hedim, Meknes

Fodor's Review:

This 19th-century palace was built by the same family of viziers (high government officials) responsible for the Palais Jamaï hotel in Fez. The building itself is exquisite, especially the second-floor carved-cedar ceilings; and it now houses the Museum of Moroccan Art, which has superb collections of carpets, jewelry, and needlework. Facing away from Bab Mansour, the ceramics stalls on Place El Hedim's left side sell some good-size tagine pots for as little as 15 DH to 20 DH.

  • Cost: 20 DH
  • Open: Daily 9-1 and 3-6:30
