With an unbeatable combination of proximity to the medina, comfort, and elegance, the Palais Jamaï is the place to stay in Fez. Built more than 120 years ago, rooms in this elegant former residence overlook the gardens and the medina and are decorated in typical Moroccan cedar and painted with bright geometric motifs. The Moroccan restaurant, Fassia, is one of the best in Fez, while another, serving international cuisine, isn't far behind.

It's an older hotel,a converted palace built by a government official at the start of the 20th century, right on the edge of the medina (original old city). It's in top condition, service is correct and pleasant, , and the amenities and room furnishings were updated, lovely, almost regal. Service could not have been more accommodating.
