Hidden inside the Royal Palace's ramparts, this stately yet intimate garden restaurant is so jarringly lovely that you almost rub your eyes upon arrival. The owner, Raouf Alaoui Ismail -- a direct descendant of Moulay Ismail -- speaks excellent English and serves fine Moroccan cuisine. Tables are arranged in and around the central patio on the second floor. The six rooms are also gems, simply but beautifully arranged, long on taste and short on such modern accoutrements as safes and TVs.
