Natural Thermal Spas

Moulay Yacoub. This small village built on steep hillside terraces in a beautiful landscape 20 km (12 mi) northwest of Fez is famous for the natural hot sulfur water that is channeled into pools and a hammam. A trip to Moulay Yacoub for a swim and hot bath is a pleasant day out from Fez. Once visited solely by locals or pilgrims, there is now a hotel with ultramodern medical and hotel facilities. There are separate areas for men and women. Bring a swimsuit and towels. From the Gare Routière in Fez, a collective grand taxi costs 7 DH, or hire one independently, but negotiate the price before setting off.[. 10 DH. Daily 6 AM-10 PM

Sidi Harazem. Fifteen 15 km (9 mi) southeast of Fez are more hot-water springs. After Sidi Ali, Morocco's most popular mineral water comes from here. The rural equivalent of a health spa, these natural springs are rich in magnesium and attract year-round visitors. The shrine of Sidi Harazem dates from the 17th century and is surrounded by eucalyptus, palm, and pink laurel trees. Every April, a popular moussem is held to celebrate the saint. Hotel Sidi Harazem is a state-run hotel located next to the thermal baths and pool. From Bab Ftouh in Fez, a grand taxi will cost 5 DH. Also, Bus 28 runs from Place de la Resistance.[. 035/59-00-57. 15 DH. Daily
