The flea market actually began as one of many small bazaars surrounding the clock tower in the mid-19th century, and it's now the only survivor of that era. The market's main street is Olei Zion, but there are a number of smaller streets and arcades to explore at your leisure, so take your time. While you're probably not going to lug a 19th-century sideboard home, you can watch the locals shop and bargain, and do what they do: never agree to the first price a seller demands. In a former warehouse at 12 Amiad Street the city has housed a gallery that hosts changing contemporary-art exhibits.
