David Intercontinental

Fodor's Review:

At the southern end of the Tel Aviv coastline, this luxurious hotel is a top choice for celebrities. The atrium lobby is massive and elegant, with soaring ceilings, marble floors, and a high-end shopping arcade. Most rooms overlook the sea, but some have views of trendy Neveh Tzedek. The rooms have a hint of Spanish style, with warm colors accented by brick-hued pillows that complement the red-tile roofs of Neveh Tzedek's original buildings right below. Top floors are reserved for club-room guests, who have use of a private lounge. The hotel's restaurant, Aubergine, specializes in French and Italian cuisine with Middle Eastern accents, such as the sea bass in lemon and Galilee extra-virgin olive oil, and Golan Heights veal with a porcini mushroom risotto. An extensive menu of Israeli wines from the major wineries is another attraction. Pros: location adjacent to Neveh Tzedek. Cons: a busy avenue separates the hotel from the beach.
