The chef-owner of the quarter's popular bistro Nana, Golan Dor, and his brother, Tomi Ben-David (who owns the hotel), came up with the plan to restore the elegance of a historic building and turn it into this five-studio boutique hotel. Wooden doors and cabinets are among some of the appointments that were hunted down in flea markets, and the sinks are constructed out of halved old wine barrels. The lacy finishing on sheets and pillowcases adds a sense of luxurious comfort. Pros: innovative design elements; free Wi-Fi. Cons: located in a shabbier part of Neveh Tzedek still undergoing restoration as of this writing; urban views from balconies and terraces are not all very inspiring; no lobby.
