On this spot, archaeologists have partially excavated an ancient fishing village, including the remains of several homes that, while now only rubble, provide an idea of how communal life once occurred here. Now, as then, the village has a view of the Sea of Galilee (though the shoreline moved drastically in an earthquake in 363 AD). A shaded and serene sitting area includes arrows pointing to other Christian sites around the lake. Other than the sitting area, shade is
limited here, so bring a hat and plenty of water.
