On this spot, archaeologists have partially excavated an ancient fishing village, including the remains of several homes that, while now only rubble, provide an idea of how communal life was once lived here. Now, as then, the village affords a view of the Sea of Galilee (though the shore moved drastically, relative to the town, in an earthquake in AD 363). A shaded and serene sitting area includes arrows pointing to other Christian sites around the lake. Other than the
sitting area, shade is limited here, so bring a hat and plenty of water.
