Lavan Review

At the renovated in-house eatery of the popular Cinematheque, coffee and other beverages satisfy film buffs. The superb view of Old City walls from the glassed-in patio makes this a destination for locals as well as tourists. (The fact that it's open Saturday is another plus.) The fare is light: fresh fish of the day, pizza, and salads. The chef's more inventive dishes have mixed success, but one winner is gnocchi with chestnuts and sautéed onions. Do try the unusual ice cream made with tahini and halva.

watch a great movie at the jerusalem cinemateque...then go to lavan, sit on the porch and see the most beautiful and ancient view in the world...directly across from the old city...eat fine food and drink great wines, provided by a knowledgable crew with a genuine enthusiasm for good service and providing a great experience...i would go back again and again.
