Paradiso Review

You may be suspicious of its strategic location near major hotels, but the food is excellent and much of the clientele local. Although the white stucco and dark wood touches are pleasant, decor is not the big attraction. You can eat light—breakfasts, sandwiches, salads, soup—but the main menu tempts you with unusually flavored appetizers (dolmades and stuffed vegetables; a seasonal salad of fresh figs, blue cheese, and greens), grilled steaks and imaginative meat combinations, tasty pasta dishes, and some child-friendly options. Mullet fillet baked with rosemary, olive oil, white wine, and garlic is recommended, but also ask about other seafood dishes on the constantly changing menu. Desserts are unexceptional. For fine-weather dining, there is a small deck over the sidewalk. Reservations are essential Friday night but are not accepted otherwise.
