Fodor's Review

This shop sells traditional and affordable papercuts, a traditional and well-established Jewish art form. These pieces make unusual gifts—to say nothing of being both light and easy to pack. They can be customized with your name.

Judaicut Review

Papercuts are a traditional Jewish art form, and there are several notable artisans in Jerusalem, of which I think Judaicut is the finest. Judaicut is tucked away in a little alley off Nahalat Shiva, one of Jerusalem's arts-and-crafts areas. It is a real family business, operated by Michel Partouche and his wife and daughter. Their papercuts are exquisitely designed and executed, finished off with sensitive water coloring. They have a range of sizes,

prices and types of paper cuts: you can purchase ketuboth, blessings for your house, etc. that they have in stock. Or you can also work with Michel to design your own unique art work. I've bought two pieces from Judaicut in the last year, both custom ordered. Michel emailed me drawings of the proposed papercuts for my approval and when they were finished, shipped them to me beautifully packed. The pieces are so beautiful that everyone coming into our house remarks upon them. In fact, when I took the most recent purchase to be framed, the gallery owner loved it so much that she is buying one for herself! Check out their website. The items are beautiful as displayed, but even more spectacular in person.
