Jerusalem stone lends a warm glow to this low-slung hotel, which is wrapped around a central courtyard and atrium. In warm weather, the best way to start the day is with an excellent outdoor breakfast in the shaded courtyard. The well-maintained guest rooms are comfortably furnished and all have views. Penthouse suites have balconies overlooking the Old City, a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Others face the leafy Talbieh neighborhood. The gym, spa, and heated pool are added bonuses. The hotel's location next to the playgrounds at Liberty Bell Garden makes it ideal for families.

If a bit more pricey than other good hotels in J'salem, it is elegant. Great pool and fitness center. Super bar and special touches like the barbeque in the courtyard (helps keep thing kosher, you know, those BBQ's). It is especially interesting to watch the courting rituals of the haredi, who allow their kids to 'date' in the lobby of the hotel - kids dressed like pre-WWI Europeans and so proper drinking their Coca Colas. An easy walk to the
Old City through a park full of rosemary and lavendar, or walk down King David by the YMCA to the Jaffa Gate.
