Jaffa Street, Ben-Yehuda Street, and Machaneh Yehuda are ghostly quiet late Friday and on Saturday because of the Jewish Sabbath. Morning through midday Friday is the most bustling, as Jerusalemites meet friends for coffee or lunch, and do their weekend shopping.
