Tishbi Estate Winery

Tishbi Estate Winery Review

Among the hills and valleys of this pastoral area is one of the country's most esteemed wineries. The first vines were planted almost 120 years ago. Estate is the premier label (the Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay are among the best in Israel). At the country-style visitor center, it's a treat to eat breakfast, brunch or lunch under the grapevines in the courtyard. Apart from wine, you'll also find local cheeses, olive oil, honey, and wine jellies at the shop. A visit to the new chocolate tasting room is a treat. Call ahead to reserve the one-hour tour, which includes tastings and a visit to the old alembic distillery where their prized brandy is made. It's about 3 km (1½ mi) north of Benyamina.
