Fodor's Review

The Druze are justly famous for their hospitality. Here you not only get a warm welcome from Fadal, the congenial owner, but if you call ahead, you can enjoy a traditional meal in his own home. The house formerly belonged to the British traveler and diplomat Laurence Oliphant. Fadal explains the Druze way of life and shows Druze farm implements, household objects, and handicrafts. If you choose to dine à la Druze, the meal may include skewers of grilled lamb or steak and big, flat pita bread. Baklava and Turkish coffee provide the finishing touch.
