Fresh off a multiyear renovation, this handsome structure—once home to a British Mandate-era governor—houses a rotating display of classic and modern Israeli art near the center of town. For a while the source of an unfortunate turf war, the museum, housed in a former mosque, has now arrived at a compromise seemingly all parties Arab can seem to agree on; a permanent display of Islamic art is set to open some time in late 2013.
