Tree of Zacchaeus

Tree of Zacchaeus Review

As you enter Jericho from Route 1, take the left fork at the traffic island. A few hundred yards farther, the road swings sharply to the left. To the right of the bend and one block down a no-entry street is a fenced-off, wide-girthed sycamore tree, which tradition (and the postcard vendors) identifies as the very one Zacchaeus, the chief tax collector, climbed to get a better look at Jesus (Luke 19:1-4).
