Kibbutz Mitzpe Shalem manufactures the excellent Ahava skin- and hair-care products based on (but not smelling like) the Dead Sea minerals. The factory outlet here is open Sunday to Thursday 8 to 5, Friday 8 to 4, and Saturday 8:30 to 5. It's 20 km (12½ mi) south of Qumran.
