Fodor's Review:

Opened in the early 1900s as a bathhouse for the khedives who ruled Egypt and converted to a hotel in the 1930s, the Windsor oozes atmosphere. The original fixtures have all been carefully preserved, including an antique elevator that operates by a hand crank. Rooms are comfortably fitted with heavy wooden period-piece furniture that gives the place the breezy, slightly creaky feel of a Somerset Maugham story about life in the colonies. Each room is different so ask to see a couple before you settle on one you like. Ten of the rooms have showers only.
