This Cairo institution is popular with both Egyptians and visitors. The main downtown branch has a pleasantly eclectic ambience that suggests the owner decorated it with little things she collected over the years. Felfela is a good place to taste such Egyptian staples as shorbat ads (lentil soup), which is tasty with a squeeze of lemon in it; taamiya (the local version of falafel); and ful (stewed fava beans). The food is similar at the restaurant's other branches, with only the decor changing. Felfela serves beer.

Was a bit disappointed. The food was OK but not great but the menu gives a large selection of local dishes so this is a good place to try different things. The waiters speak very good English and can help you select your meal.
