$$$$, Atlantic Coast
Fodor's Review:
This beach hotel in Camps Bay is the most relaxed and unpretentious of the luxury lodgings in and around Cape Town. It's across the road from a white-sand beach and is backed by the towering cliffs of the Twelve Apostles. From the raised pool deck you can look out over sea and sand and onto one of the coolest strips in South Africa, where all the beautiful people congregate. The decor is contemporary, clean, and bright, and the rooms incorporate a sophisticated range of neutral shades. Service is excellent, and although you're only 10 minutes from the hurly-burly of the city, it feels like a lifetime away. Ask for a premier room if you want a sea view.
