$$$-$$$$, Eclectic, Atlantic Coast
Fodor's Review:
Blue leather armchairs and crisp white napery confirm the Twelve Apostle Hotel's nautical bent and Azure's smart interior. The menu -- with its focus on seafood, game, and the indigenous fynbos plants -- works well with views of the Atlantic Ocean as far as the eye can see and Table Mountain. Presented in a martini glass, the crayfish-and-prawn cocktail is retro-chic. The giant-tiger-prawn tempura, served with chili-tomato salsa and pickled cucumber, is an extravagant feast. Slow-roasted duck comes with pomme William (crumbed potato in the shape of a pear), mushrooms and roasted peppers, glazed baby apples, and a caramelized citrus reduction. Oversized napkins provide unexpected luxury for messy eaters. Ask for a window table.
