Fodor's Review:
Rising like a Byzantine, 14th-century Kasbah from the Palmery and surrounded by its own moat and acres of grounds, this hotel is the last word in sumptuous, escape-it-all luxury. From the moment its giant wooden doors swing open to reveal the central courtyard, restaurant, and heated swimming pool beyond, everything is calculated to impress. Ruins to explore at the bottom of the garden also contain a boutique from which visitors can purchase replica furniture. For such lavish surroundings, service has occasionally fallen just short of what you might expect, but this is still an unforgettable stay.

We stayed 3 days in mid october 2007 Truly appalling and a rip-off price-wise. We booked it on the basis of lots of glowing reviews on this website, the hotel was certainly not like the website photos! Rooms are good but services needs a lot of improvement, Our room was often not cleaned until as late as 5pm Staff were invariably surly, unhelpful and disinclined to speak English. The concierge was the rudest one I have EVER tried to talk to. Location is not ideal-too far from downtown, there is absolutely nothing to see or do in the area. The restaurant is not any better. Do not hold out high expectations especially if you are accustomed to traveling first classRATING: 1.0
