The rooms here are merely adequate, but the helpful staff, the ample and tasty breakfast (including all the fresh-squeezed orange juice you can drink), and the glass-walled breakfast room perched over a busy street corner manage to compensate. Across the street from one of North Africa's better-stocked newspaper kiosks, the Akouass also hosts an unbelievable downstairs disco scene (get a room as high up as you can to escape the noise), where men and women in Old Testament djellabas (long, hooded robes) boogie alongside women in leather thongs and men in leather pants.
