This national museum comprises eight pavilions that present such facets of Israeli life as ethnography and folklore, ceramics and other handicrafts, and coinage; the displays span 3,000 years of history. In the center of the complex is the ancient site of Tel Kassile, where archaeological digs have so far uncovered 12 layers of settlements. There is also a daily sound-and-light show in the adjacent planetarium with Hebrew narration (call to verify hours).
