Fodor's Expert Review Plantation

This large boutique hotel is built around a grand 1930s villa in the heart of the city, with an open yard with a lotus-filled pond in the middle. Three newer buildings are ranged around an inner courtyard, where breakfast is served next to the larger of the hotel's two swimming pools. The rooms are modern and functional in design, with white walls, slate-gray floor tiles, and splashes of color. The spa is of a high standard and very affordable, and the restaurant, La Pergola, serves some of the finest French-inspired food in the capital.
