Take to the waters on a boat trip for views of sea otters, Steller sea lions, porpoises, and bald eagles; occasionally humpback or orca whales make an appearance too. Then hike one of the trails in the park or drive to Exit Glacier for a rare up-close encounter with a blue tidewater glacier.

How to Do It
Catch a boat tour from Seward, the gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park, for wildlife viewing or combo tours that include the glacier. The only land route to the park is via Herman Leirer (Exit Glacier) road; drive all the way out to the glacier, where the road terminates, or begin a hike from the Nature Center.

Be sure and take a boat tour that goes all the way to a tide water glacier. We saw whales, dall porpoise, and calving glaciers. Very good! Take a kayak tour in Seward.

The Parks official concessionaire had 2 for 1 tix available in the Alaska Tour Saver Book. Using that coupon more than pays for the book's $99 price. The tour's outstanding.
