As Senior Vice President and Publisher of Fodor’s Travel, D’Acierno is focused on propelling the 77 year old brand into the digital age while maintaining Fodor’s trusted voice in travel. D’Acierno is refining the brand’s digital strategy for e-book and app production while continuing to grow the robust print guidebook business.
A native of Houston, TX, D’Acierno has always been a traveler, growing up on airplanes with a father who worked as a pilot. A harrowing flight with her father at the controls of a small private plane whisking the family from the path of Hurricane Alicia didn’t stop D’Acierno from becoming a flight attendant for Continental Airlines following college. After touring the globe and sharing a Newark, NJ “crashpad” with other flight attendants, D’Acierno embarked on a career in publishing.
D’Acierno’s extensive publishing experience includes positions in publicity and marketing (both at Phaidon Press and Random House Audio) as well as event management (at Barnes & Noble’s flagship Union Square store in New York City).
In addition to Fodor’s, D’Acierno also leads Random House Audio, Reference and Large Print as well as Living Language, imprints of Random House LLC’s Digital Publishing Group.
Vice President and Editor in Chief, Fodor's Travel
A native of Toronto, Bowen began her career as a journalist covering everything from politics to arts and culture for daily and weekly Canadian newspapers. Bowen's travel career began in 1999, after a three-month solo trip through South East Asia with nothing more than a guidebook for company inspired her to write travel guides herself when she returned home. She subsequently contributed to several titles for the Rough Guides series, including their inaugural Montreal and Caribbean guides.
A world traveler from a very young age, Arabella Bowen has visited more than 55 countries, and every continent except Antarctica. Averaging at least a dozen trips a year, Bowen’s impressive travel resume spans the globe, providing the first-hand destination expertise that is synonymous with Fodor’s.
