If you’re passing through the town of Oji in Nara, Japan, you might find yourself in the presence of a flying dog that goes by the name Yukimaru Skywalker. The mechanical pup, powered by a quadcopter drone, gives the appearance that the dog is walking on air. Officially the town mascot, Yukimaru is reportedly based on a beloved pet of renowned Prince Shotoku (A.D. 574-622). Shotoku is thought to have helped create Japan’s first constitution concerning political affairs. Check out the promotion for the first mascot drone as it floats by such sights as the Eternal Bell and Mont Akishi.
